This was a different twist to a classic romance story. I enjoyed learning more about different characters that had been present in the series but not the main focus.
I read this series in the order my heart dictates and decided that this was the next one just because Alessandra is Brazilian. Well, just like in King of Envy, I liked the characters and the couple, and I felt that the author took the time to research some things about Brazil, instead of just resorting to stereotypes, but Roman caught my attention more than anything else and that is not a positive point for the book.

Sin más, para distraerse un rato genial, pero para mi el más flojo de momento de la saga.
I haven't been this excited for a book since king of wrath but it was a bit anti climactic for me .
dominic changed his life style and reevaluated his priorities for Alessandra which is amazing but i wouldn't call what he did grovelling , at least not like it was advertised but I loved how he immidiately snapped out of it an did a 180° change of character for her.
Alessandra annoyed me with how she handled things, pushing Dominic away yet still sleeping with him at every turn despite regretting it every time and saying it'll never happen again and giving him false hope and mixed signals , like girl if you were strong and brave enough to leave a 10year marriage because he was emotionally and physically absent, then pull through.
I loved their flashbacks and adored their young puppy love
The twisted series couples is a bit redundant at this point i wish we can just be over with it and focus on the current group
.
Im so intrigued by dom's brother roman and i wish we can see more of him or even him getting a book

classic ana huang book, ROMAN DESERVES HIS OWN BOOK
2.5/5
I anticipated depth, groveling, and agony on this one, and sadly, it did not live up to my expectations.
I mean, why, despite being married for 10 years, did they not talk about what was up? Why divorce first before having THE TALK? Why has no one voiced out, "Hey, this marriage is falling apart; can we make this work?"
Why did Dom sign the papers, but only to keep stalking Ale in the hopes of getting back together? Why divorce and downgrade to be f*ck buddies? The math ain't mathing here.
I wish it focused more on the struggles of their marriage, but it did not. It was more about them trying not to have *gigidy* but failing to do so. It was weird, childish, and frustrating.
