Book two and this series is still delivering! It picked up right where the first left off with no tedious info dump and no whiplash recap. I also loved that this world is detailed without being so complicated I need a map, a character chart, and a personal assistant to keep track of it all. It is fantasy that lets you sit back and enjoy the ride.
Were there moments where I rolled my eyes at the characters? Absolutely. They sometimes said or did things that made me mutter “why are you like this?” under my breath. But I was too entertained to stay annoyed for long.
The romance was fantastic. The tension and banter were top tier, equal parts swoony and snarky, and when things got steamy? Let’s just say my car has never been so quiet at traffic lights. If anyone saw me grinning like an idiot, no they didn’t.
This book cranks the spice level up to “blush if someone reads over your shoulder” territory. Consider yourself warned (or encouraged).
All up, this was fun, fast-paced, and addictive, exactly what I want in a fantasy romance. Bring on book three because I am ready for more.

So they said this series is like a mash up of Sarah J Maas's two popular series and yes, yes it is. Do i think Maas did it better, I do. But I am having fun. I love the side characters and The male lead Nadir, Am sort of annoyed at the constant, The Prince and his little sister did nothing while i was in prison. They are the enemy from Lor. Though I suppose if someone's father had placed me and my siblings in Prison and tortured me, I would not immediately become bosom buddy's with his kids. Even if his kids Hated their dad with a burning rage. I do give Lor some leeway in her feeling like she cannot trust what people show her, because in her place i would feel the same. And i also have felt humiliated by seeing in another person all the good because they were nice to me, and ignoring the red flags flapping in the breeze. Now for book two I hear my Man or high Fae Gabriel is back and I am all about that Male lol

Still loving this series. Twists and turns, spice...oh, the yearning..., political intrigue, hidden identities. And I loved that you get this glimpse of the past through Lor's grandmother.  This book is a bit more world building and set up for the overarching story, but still gripping. I love the characters and the world that was created.
