I found this a hard book to get thru, like the story wasn't quite fully written and details were glossed over. Almost like the author's so badly wanted the focus to be the sex and the actual plot was at times forgotten about. The spice scenes were decent at least, and the twist was good.

If you love female, smart, brilliant serial killer, you’re welcome.
As always Brynne and Alexa have written an amazing book with plots, spice (really good) and twisted characters.

- FMC PHD student in psychology / serial killer
- MMC psychology doctor specialized in forensics
- secrets cults
- he falls first (hard)
- tortured characters.
- hilarious second FMC (Fletcher ❤️)

Spice level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Bria is not what she seems. On the surface she is a dedicated and bright student. Secretly she is hunting down and killing anyone who can lead her to the elusive cult leader, Caron Berger. Eli, a psychology professor, has teamed up with the FBI to investigate the same cult leaders Bria has been secretly killing off.

This one was set up for an incredibly interesting story. Badass female serial killer out to get revenge? ✔️ Crazy cult vibes? ✔️ Amazing sexual chemistry? ✔️

Unfortunately, after about 20% it just lost me. Once the two of them got together, the plot just went right out the window. Which is too bad because it could have been SO interesting. The cult plot line just felt like an afterthought throughout the rest of the book.

I did like the ending tho. Eli embraces the darkness and gives Bria a special "gift".

Tropes: professor/student, female serial killer, cults, revenge

Amazing! I always love a good murder book. My only issue was that he seemed to okay with the murders. Like he seemed violent but not murderous so the switch at the end seems abrupt.
