I really liked how Kim Harrington mixed the supernatural with a murder mystery with a dash of humor. The only thing that stopped me from giving this 5 stars is the somewhat ambiguous ending - the mystery is cleared up but other things are left open-ended.
It was a fun read, but I lost interest when I figured out whodunit really early on. Turns out I was wrong! lol
More like a 2.75 for me.
I liked the story and mystery well enough but the writing left a bit to be desired. I also felt like all of the characters were underdeveloped, leaving the final conclusion weak for me.

In the midst of a paranormal YA books Clarity stands out just about enough. I started Clarity with hesitance & by the end of the first chapter I had already labeled it under 'just another paranormal book' category, but I kept on reading & I am thankful for that.
Clarity is a funny debut by Kim Harrington full of mystery & love. The crime was not your easily solved ones, although I did knew who the murderer was from the start, but your mind keeps changing along with the character from suspect to suspect.
Clarity is funny, quirky & not the girl next door, I like the fact that she had no friends because in almost all books we have the obnoxious best friends & it was nice to take a break from that. Clarity got clichéish at times, but the romance & the entertainment was always there, so it was not bothersome.
My biggest issue though it's not with the story, but with the writing. Have you ever watched a movie turn your head a second & missed how the character went from laying on the bed to drinking coffee in the kitchen? Well, that's how I felt about Clarity(mostly at the beginning). The characters would said to do something, but their was given no further description of their actions making you wonder if they went flying away.
Overall, Clarity really blew my mind compare to most paranormal books. You could sense Harrington's improvement of the story & development as the story advanced & I am sure we can hope for an even more mind-blowing sequel.
I read this book and it had me in a lot of different places. I highly recommend and I would totally read it again and purchase it. For real, definitely read this if you like books that have the plot of "high school girl with powers solving crime with a hot sidekick that she falls for" because that's exactly what this book is about.

I totally adored this book! Clare was genuinely likable and I was kept guessing throughout the whole book on who the killer was as well as Clare's love interests. I found it refreshing, fun and mysterious. I cannot wait for the next book. I have a feeling this is going to be one of my new favorite young adult series!
I really enjoyed this one. It was well written and the characters were interesting and likeable. The author even had me liking Clare's cheating ex-boyfriend which is pretty darn amazing as I hate cheaters.
This book met all of the criteria for a great cozy mystery, including two love interests. It wrapped up well and remained interesting. When will the next book be released?
