Clarity is a great debut novel that will have you drawn in right from the beginning. Filled with mystery, a great strong snarky female lead and plenty of boys, Clarity is filled with fun.
The best thing about Clarity is the characters. All the characters are AWESOME!! Clare is definitely one of my favorite characters EVER. She is so full of spunk. Clare is such a strong character and she has to be being from a family of “freaks” and bullied about it at school. Clare can really hold her own against everyone else. And she is full of snark. I LOVE SNARK! I would have been fine just reading a story about Clare’s everyday life even if nothing happened because she is just entertaining. Clare had me laughing out loud at times too. She’s pretty kick-ass. I really loved Clare’s brother Perry too. While Perry has his flaws and is a player, he still has this loveable characteristic. Clare and Perry’s relationship was spot on too. They truly felt like brother and sister, you could feel the love between them and the need to protect each other, and I loved that.
While Clare and her family has special abilities, the supernatural aspect from their abilities did not dominate the story. I really liked that abilities was not the center of the story. Instead, the characters and the relationship between the characters was what I felt was center of the story. Also the mystery WAS GREAT! I literally did not know who the murderer was. I would suspect it to be one person but find out it wasn’t. I thought the murderer was like four different people and in the end I WAS WRONG! I had not clue who the murderer was. That’s great a feat to completely blind side the read with who the killer is. I really liked that.
I really loved how Kim wrapped up this book. The ending wrapped up everything nice, but still left things open enough for the next book. Especially with Clare’s boy situation. I really cannot decide if I want Clare with Justin or Gabriel. They both have their own flaws and own charms so I cannot pick!
Overall, Clarity was a great fun read. I loved Clare, she was such a strong, confidant, spunky character. She is definitely one of my favorite characters of this year. I cannot wait to read the next book because it is sure to be AWESOME!!

I really really like it!
One of my favorites without a doubt.
It has family issues, romance and mystery all with a great sense of humor from Clare, her comments and thoughts made me laugh so hard; and also the touch of paranormal issues where each member of the family had their individual gifts.
I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the next book! :D

Clarity was an impressive debut. I love a good mystery and Clarity was just that, an interesting murder mystery with some psychics thrown in. Oh, and who can forget the kickass heroine? Yeah, Clarity was pretty good.
First thing I thought of: Clare is AWESOME. She's fierce and impulsive, rebellious but loyal too. She realizes she's no angel but she's a good person. She doesn't take crap from people. I felt awful for Clare for always being called a freak and I'm interested to learn more about her school life. She's cut out for the investigator biz. I was rooting for her all along.
The other characters in the story were cool too. I love how some of them had their own side stories. It helped make them real to me and overall enhanced the story's setting and believability. Some of them stole the scene. I enjoyed reading of Clare's mom particularly because she had a very fun and teasing personality. The boys for the mini love triangle thing were hot but I wasn't sure if the triangle was needed for the overall plot. Well, that's what I thought at least. I didn't pick a team- that'll come in the future right? Assuming the triangle continues.
I'd also like to mention the mystery. I applaud Kim Harrington for keeping me on my toes. I did guess the villain and at the end I was all "I knew who it was! I should be a detective!" but the truth is that I was sure the killer was at least 3 different people. You'll have a fun time trying to guess who's behind the murder- and yes, it makes sense!
Overall I want to see more of Clare and of Kim Harrington's books. Check out Clarity; you won't regret it! 4 stars,

Great book, nice and short, loved the characters, and the romance, and the mystery! It was really good! Can't wait to read book 2!
Loved this book! Kim Harrington has written a winner! I hope that lots of people read it:)
Clarity is great mystery that kept me on the edge of my seat, guessing, until the satisfying end. It's a modern book, full of psychics and teenage crushes, but it really had the feel of the old true mysteries. A great blend of imagination, well-rounded characters, and an intriguing storyline.
Clare and her family are freaks. Her brother, mother, and herself do psychic readings in the parlor of their home for a living, but while they glam it up, it's not a hat trick. Clare's ex, who always believed in her ability, shows up asking Clare to use her gift to help solve the murder of a tourist. Clare agrees, but since she can't control her powers, she feels like she isn't being much of a help. But, it won't be long until Clare's gift becomes the only thing that might save her and solve the string of murders happening in her tourist town.
I really enjoyed all of the characters in this book. Clare was smart and funny. She was a strong girl that knew who she was and didn't try to pretend to be something else just to please others. There are also great love interests, a unique and funny family, and an interesting cast of side characters. I loved that Clare had such a close relationship with her mother and brother. I enjoy seeing a family dynamic where they have their problems, but they are still close and still rely on each other.
The story had a great flow to it. I never hit a spot in the book where I thought the story was dragging. The mystery was revealed at a steady pace and I was never able to guess the surprise ending. I enjoyed every part of this book, but I think I enjoyed getting to read a real mystery book in the YA genre the most.
This is Kim Harrington's debut novel, but I never would have guessed it. She writes like a seasoned vet, and I will definitely be picking up anything this author puts out! I hope you all go out and get yourselves a copy, I'm sure you will all love it as well.

Quite well done with a mystery that really can't see coming. Interesting characters. Needs a sequel.

Clarity and her family are all psychics. Clarity can see images from touching other people's things, Perry, her brother, can speak with dead people, and their mother can read people's thoughts. They use their talents by performing readings in order to make a living. When Perry is accused of the murder, Clarity must use her gifts to help find out who the murderer really is. She must also confront her past relationship with her ex-boyfriend and her new feelings for the son of the town's new detective who hates psychics.
The book opens with the end and then jumps back in time to tell the story of the last nine days. Several suspects and clues are introduced throughout the story, keeping the reader guessing right up until the end. Clarity is a very sympathetic character, bravely facing not only the town's disdain for gifts, but also trying to deal with many of the same issues that face most teenagers. There were a few loose ends that were not tied up at the end of the story, but I assume they will be dealt with in the second book in the Clarity Series, Perception. Overall, a very good young adult mystery.

This book was terrible plain and simple. I don't really have much of a description to give it other then the entire plot was completely implausible. Letting a teenager put her hands all over an active crime scene? Give me a break. If you want to read a good YA novel, do me a favor and pick up Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas instead. That's a YA fantasy worth reading not this garbage.
