“It was a strange reality to be on the precipice of tragedy and not be able to stop it.”
Oh I seriously love this timeless series! Each book is fantastic & this one was no exception! This book focuses on identical twins Grace and Hope they are both time crossers who simultaneously lives in two separate time periods... 1692 & 1912. When they go to sleep in one life they wake up in the next. On their 25th birthday they will have to choose one life to keep & one to leave behind. Both timelines were fascinating… I mean the 1692 Salem Witch Trails & 1912 which was the beginning of aviation. I love all the historical elements with so many twists & turns… seriously I was holding my breath wondering how it would all turn out.
I also loved all of the faith elements sprinkled throughout… I love the thought that God knows what’s best for us even when we can’t see it. That we each have a purpose & that God has a plan for us & we just need to trust in him.
“Praying and seeking God means trusting that he will do what is best and taking comfort in his plan.”
So many beautiful quotes…
“Brokenness changes our hearts. We either become a bitter and angry or more compassionate, selfless and loving. I’m happy to know she’s letting her brokenness change her for the good.”
If you haven’t read this fantastic series you need too! But I would suggest reading them in order. I can’t wait for book four!

I love this series so much, and this installment did not disappoint. The main characters are beautifully described, and the twin dynamic is so well done (speaking as a mother of identical twins). The two timelines are equally well done, and the twists and turns are perfect.

Based on the previous 2 books of the series, I knew going into this that this book would be a wild ride filled with faith, and Gabrielle Meyer did not disappoint, in fact she exceeded expectations.
For a Lifetime is an excellent addition to a 5-star series. Gabrielle Meyer undoubtedly has God-gifted talent for storytelling--no one quite does it like her: the way she weaves together the tme crossing components, the historical elements, the complex characters, the twists and turns, and the FAITH is like none other. You can tell that this author does her homework to create as much historical accuracy in her stories as possible; I learned so much about the tragic time of the Salem witch trials in particular.
As I mentioned before, the faith contained within the pages is breathtaking: from 2 faith-filled male romantic interests to the meanings behind Hope and Grace's names to the lessons that God is faith and His plan is better than anything. I can pretty much guarantee that this book will minister to you in some way, if you let it.
This story has two timelines of 1692 (Salem witch trials) and 1912 (aviation): personally I was much more interested in the Salem timeline details But the characters themselves and their struggles were engaging throughout. I was hoping Meyer would take her characters through a particular event in history in one of the timelines, but it's fine lol.
A book that can help you learn about history, connect with the characters, surprise you repeatedly, and minister to you is a rare jewel that should be cherished and shared
Warning: read with emotional support (a buddy or group read is highly recommended)
Content: adultery mentioned in a side character
Christian faith rating: 3/3

This series is one of the best! Time travel, historical fiction and characters you will fall in love with! I was so excited for this one and it is everything you would want it to be. Grace and Hope are identical twins and have the ability to time travel. They are able to move between 1692 and 1912, but have to make a final decisions in which time they want to remain in permanently on their 25th birthday, which is coming up that fall. Currently in 1692 they are in the midst of the witch accusations and the Salem Witch Trials that will be happening but one twin had a peek at history and knows a part of what will happen and fears for when that does. In 1912, aeroplanes are all anyone wants to see and Hope dreams of becoming on of America's first female pilots. With the threat of her parents orphanage being shut down, Hope can hardly pass up a cross-country flight that has a very generous payout that would save the orphanage and put her name on everyones lips in America. Is the risk worth the payout and will that help determine which century Hope should reside in? What about Grace, will she follow her sister or might fate have a had in deciding for them? These are books you never want to end. I could read hundred more of these stories! Thank you to the author for the complementary novel and for allowing me to be a part of the launch team! This review is of my own opinion and accor
