3.5 stars. It took me forever to get into this one. I wasn’t especially interested until 3/4ths of the way through.

This is one of the best psychological thrillers I’ve read. Most books in this genre are too vague and don’t really have a solid ending. You usually have more questions when it’s all over. Cross Her Heart answered all the questions by the end of the book and wrapped up all the craziness pretty tidily. I couldn’t wait to get to the end and figure out all the details and the truth about that day in Lisa’s past that changed everything forever.
There are certain gruesome details that may not be easy for some readers to think about, but they are things that happen in real life. While the overall story is something you don’t hear of every day, I think the smaller pieces of the story and how real they seem made it more interesting.
I thought I had everything figured out pretty early in the book, but I wasn’t prepared for the truth of Lisa’s secret past, and I didn’t expect the villain.

The plot was intriguing and kept me reading but I feel like this book tried too hard. I get it's a work of fiction but the story is too elaborate and far fetched.
