Enjoyable conclusion albeit a tad anticlimactic.

4 stars bc with all that build up and emphasis on how bad it’ll be when Gaia rises and the wait for the big battle at the end, you’d think there would be more detail on.. the battle? it was like a chapter at most for the finale and it was just a disappointing ending i guess.

besides that i loved everything else

only took me 8 years to get around to reading this but whatever

4.5/5 stars. I loved the book! But that ending was not okay, I need more books about Percy and his friends. Like, I need a whole series about each character.

I was very let-down. This is meant to be the grand finale of the Heroes of Olympus series. The first two volumes were good. The third and fourth ones were FANTASTIC. But this fifth instalment is a huge disappointment. The chapters by themselves are fine, some are even great, but this is not meant to be a collection of stand-alone stories and POV’s, this should be the finale of the series.

The first issue becomes clear as soon as you see the table of contents. NO PERCABETH? Seriously, nothing from Annabeth’s or Percy’s POV. That can’t be right.

Half of this book is the Reyna and Nico show. I used to skip their chapters to read about the actual quest of the seven chosen Heroes of Olympus (wink wink). Now, years later, I gave them a try and realised Nico’s is actually the best POV in this book. Most of the first two-third is unfortunately very forgettable. The big battle scenes didn’t feel quite right. The best part were really the relationships between all the characters and the last few chapters.

Mixed feelings about this as some of the content is really good, but it doesn’t deliver value as the finale of the series.

"Seven Half Bloods shall answer the call, to storm or fire the world must fall. An oath to keep with a final breath, and foes bear arms to doors of death."
From the start of the Heroes of Olympus series, the Demigods never lived an ordinary life. All their life before they found out that they are children of Immortal Gods was just a cover up for readying them for what's to come in the future. The last instalment of the Heroes of Olympus series, "The Blood Of Olympus" is full of thrill and twists. Deciphering the 2nd great prophecy could've been more easier. But now, as I finish reading this great book, the prophecy seemed simple to me now. The prophecy had ended. I will always remember the adventures the demigods had, the lessons the books, Percy Jackson and the Olympians series along with the Heroes of Olympus series have thought me different things which I will always treasure. Even now that the series has ended, I can't help but pray for more, for me, the Demigods adventures will not end. The books may have ended, but it's us the fandom that will keep it alive.
