Decent, not great.

Due to events in volume 3, a city councilman is angry at Cal, and has turned the entire police force against him. There are trumped up charges, stakeouts to find Cal, and a beating so severe it puts him in the hospital.

While this is going on, an evil presence comes from across the ocean looking for Cal. It seems Cal has become too big of a nuisance to the big bad monsters, so he must be dealt with.

If anything, it wraps up too quickly and easily (the monster part, the councilman issue is not resolved). It's fine monster-of-the-week fare, but only fine. Of particular annoyance is Cal's insistence that he is to blame for the bad things that happen. I get that it's a real thing. That good people taking blame for things evil people do that they were unable to prevent is a common trope both in fiction and real life. I just don't enjoy it. Especially in something as short form as a 4-issue comic story arc.
