I’m genuinely speechless. I cried a lot; in both the “Alive” and “Dead” parts... so throughout. My heart is shattered. I fear few things, but my biggest, most prevalent fear is that any of my former black male students will become a Ghost Boy. This is a must read if there’s any hope that this will end.

This book did interest me because I have never seen a book like this before! But, I quickly realized why, the plot was interesting for the first three chapters but, got boring and confusing pretty fast.

Brace yourself; this one is heavy. It will break your heart more than once.

3.5, beautiful story but way too brief to really tackle a difficult subject matter.

Many of the same themes as Long Way Down, The Hate U Give and All American Boys, without the teen edginess of those titles.

I wanted something a little lighter to read after having just given birth to my third little one….

It wasn’t a light read at all, however it was a necessary read that I intend to carry with me as a mother and an educator.
