Leave it to JP Delaney to get me to read SciFi. I would never have picked up this book by any other author but since I have enjoyed Delaney’s previous books so much, I put my name on the list at the library without even looking at the description. Boy, am I glad I did. This was a domestic psychological thriller with a SciFi twist and a heartwarming story of a family navigating through the challenge of an autistic child. The characters were well developed and some were very likable. I did not want to put down this books. What a ride.

Another great read by this author. This one was interesting in that I’ve never read anything like it — with the sentinel beings, robots, futuristic stuff. It made me think a lot. The ending was the biggest surprise I’ve ever read, I think. I never would have imagined it that way. Several times, saying out loud, “Wait what” “nooo way” “ok what” “for real” and lots of jaw dropping moments.

Audiobook narration was great. I liked this book until the twist after twist at the end. I had to listen to it multiple times to understand what had happened and am not sure how I felt about the ending.
