Reread: another of my dogs just passed. Very suddenly. No warning. I'm still struggling but f*ck these books are a great comfort.

Thank Bruce W. Cameron. Thank you so much.

These books have been some of the best tears I've ever shed.

If you want to feel good and cry about dogs. Just read them.

A wonderful story of Bailey, Ethan's dog, coming back down to earth to fulfill a promise. This story follows Burke and Grant, grandsons of Ethan from a dog's journey and purpose, who have a tough relationship. But the only one that can solve a problem like that is Buddy or Bailey or Ellie or Toby or, in this book, Cooper!

I felt as though this last novel in the trilogy had a very slow start. It did not have quite the instant connection of characters the other two had. What it lacked in a fast character development it gained in overall storytelling. Seeing how all of the relationships fell into place was awe inspiring. My one wish was that W. Bruce Cameron had perhaps done a chapter on how all the other families from the other two books fell into place with this one. Chase is Ethan’s grandson but that is all we know. Beautifully written, I was so happy to have picked up this series. A must for any dog lover.

It made me laugh, it made me cry. I loved the book but do not think I could read any more from the series (this was my first). It hurt my heart too much with each death (canine and human). It just had a really powerful emotional charge for me that left me feeling a little depleted. Which really just means the writer did a fantastic job.
