I wasn't a huge fan of the love triangle but I loved it. It kept me on my toes. I'm so invested at this point and I need the next one now

TW: SA
There is a character who was sexually assaulted in the past. They tell their story in Chapter 30. No explicit details are given.

I really enjoyed this! This book is my first by the author and I look forward to reading her other. This is a YA “romantasy” about a witch and a witch hunter. Rune lives in a society that has banished the rule of witches and actively hunts them. Gideon in a witch hunter who is set on capturing the Crimson Moth, a vigilante of sorts who helps rescue captured witches and lead them to safety. I enjoyed the plot and the unique storyline. It kept me turning pages for sure!

Despite the stilted attempts at world building, the predictability of every “twist”, and the whiplash I experienced from reading Rune and Gideon’s mental gymnastics routines, I generally had a good time. The magic system is super intriguing, and the ending seems to be setting up the potential for a banging sequel.

Listen, I’m a simple gal. If there’s one thing I love in an enemies to lovers romance, it’s when
the lovers become enemies again at the end.
These two did it in the stupidest way possible, but it still checked the box and I was entertained.
