I decided to read this book because the dust jacket of "Secret to Happiness" by the same author talked about this book and how it was such a huge success and printed in a gazillion languages. It's a silly fluffy book and not even well written. Every once in a while the author exhibits some remarkable insight and connections but then goes back to describing her winey character's behavior. I finished it because it was an easy read but was happy to return it to the library.

Giving this 4 stars instead of the 3 it deserves because I feel partially responsible for not being able to get into it. When has it ever taken me almost a month to finish a book?
This was relateable in that way all neurotic disaster girls are but it was unpolished.

I could identify with the main character's hang-ups about sexuality that resulted from her evangelical Christian upbringing. While this book was good for entertainment, there's not much to it. I think it would suffer on rereading.

What can I say positive about this book....hmmm...it was short. Expecially if you skip the long paragraphs and only read the one-liners. The premise sounded like a great chick-lit story, but it fell flat for me.

"When 32-year-old Alison's first real boyfriend unceremoniously dumps her - he steps out to buy mustard for a dinner party and never returns - it's time for Alison to reassess her lifelong search for romantic fulfillment. Does true love even exist? Is every romantic involvement with a coworker inevitably doomed? Does sex without commitment always lead to disaster? Is a girl's evangelical Christian upbringing an impediment to her finding true happiness?"

This author is hilarious, I wish we were friends in real life. Call me! J/k, kind of.

your classic chick lit, but more well written and less predictable. it feels a little more realistic and less like a fairy tale.

He done her wrong, and finally near the very end of the book she realizes it. Interesting writing style. Talks directly to the reader.
