This was an interesting, yet challenging read. It was my first of the "Marriage of Convenience" trope.
While I couldn't wait to devour more of the relationship between Ares and Raven, I was really struggling with Hannah constantly getting in the way & her manipulative ways. It was frustrating watching Raven getting pushed around by her family, and every bit of happiness constantly being taken away whenever she got it.

But in spite of the negatives, I gave the 4 stars for the way Ares loved Raven and fought for her in spite of the conflicting relationship they had, and of course, for the extremely *spicy* scenes (of which there were A LOT to consume!).

3.5/5 stars

Extra .5 for the short paragraph promoting mental health. Even though it is now mentioned more often in books, I still want to highlight it to encourage it.

The story is a combination of the best friend's brother and the sister's finance tropes. if you like any of it, this might be the book for you. I have read enough romances that I saw some plot twists coming from a mile away. However, that makes this book a very fast read. It was a perfect choice to cleanse my palette.

What I liked:
1. Grey characters, no major characters are painted as pure, white
2. FL stands up for herself, putting her mental health first. I think that was smart. Had it not been that way, my rating would have been quite different

What I did wish was different:
1. Black and white 'villainous' character. A self-obsessed person too could have many layers of personality
2. Plot repetition in the story itself, in my opinion, the story uses self-doubt as a tool too many time
