This a fun book, but definitely more fun to read to yourself than to try to read out loud to kids. They lose focus really fast.

Some of the pages are 100% perfect from theme, to rhyme, to illustration.
Some I think I have to be a bigger Star Wars fan for.
But my big thing is really wanting a consistent rhyme scheme. I know that they alternate different rhyme and meter patterns, but I really wanted to get in a flow from page to page. A minor complaint for an otherwise amazing tongue-in-cheek Star Wars primer.
Please note that it is filled with spoilers, so if you want to save the "I am your father" moment with your kids, maybe wait until after they have seen the films.
And if you don't have kids? No problem! This is perfect for apprentices of all ages for both sides of the Force!
In fact, I'm going to say that the illustration on the S - Stormtrooper page was worth every penny of this purchase. May have even been the reason I bought it in the first place...
...it still makes me giggle...
...oldest Star Wars joke in the book...
...classic...

This book is the most precious thing. Katie Cook has created the cutest Star Wars art since Jeffrey Brown's Darth Vader and Son.

Finally, a primer to the Star Wars characters done in rhyming verse, alphabetically? Did the world really need another movie tie-in book? This book was published, so the answer must have been yes.

Introduced are characters you know, Han and Luke, and others you might not be as familiar with (Zeb, anyone?). Perhaps the best part of the book was having the basic Standard script alongside the English name. Warning: it is best to have seen all of the Star Wars movies!
