The author and friend in the story both had childhood medical issues that this book deals with really nicely.

Lovely story. Fun, cute, but also has some important topics.
The author's note made it even better!

Very strong character development. I didn't like how Moon was bullying other kids, especially when she bullied them only for a very small thing.
Moon, the second main character, gets brain cancer towards the end

Great depiction of a friendship when the parents don't entirely approve of the friend. I also enjoyed Moon's gasp-worthy bursts of anger, as well as her belief she came from the stars.
