This book ended up having surprising potential, so I was disappointed to have to rate it so low. Many plot elements weren't fully developed, and some of the most potentially interesting points were skipped over only to be narrated back to the reader afterwards. For instance, Josh proves to be surprisingly sweet and attentive when he gives Eliana a camera for her birthday after she had mentioned that she used to like to take pictures. This allows her to resume one of her old dreams. Then near the end, we are suddenly told that Eliana is heading to a gallery opening for her pictures. Why didn't we see the moment when she found out she was getting a gallery opening? That would have been much more interesting AND we could have seen just how supportive of her dreams Josh would or wouldn't have been.

Also, this is part of a series about a bunch of brothers. There were too many other (important) characters thrown in for such a short book. I hadn't read any of the other books so I didn't feel like I knew or understood any of the brothers. I often felt lost when other characters were talking.
