The Silmarillion|7332|The Silmarillion (Middle-Earth Universe)|J.R.R. Tolkien|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1565193934l/7332._SX50_.jpg|4733799]').

Bij zesde lezing:
'The Magician's Nephew' is the prequel to all the other books, but despite its explanatory character, it's one of the best books in the whole series. Dickory's and Polly's encounter with Dickory's nasty Uncle Andrew and his magical rings, the wood between the worlds, the corrupt and dying world of Charn and the creation of Narnia are all exciting and evocative events. Moreover, the haughty and fiery queen Jadis is one of the greatest characters in the entire series. True, the story loses some of its flair once Narnia is created, and the roundup feels hurried and unsatisfactory, but this hardly hampers an otherwise very engaging adventure book.

I really liked the characters and the story, despite the strong religious themes.
