A twisty and intriguing mystery with excellent world-building and a wonderful narrative voice! Reminded me a bit of A Memory Called Empire, but with a closer-to-home sci fi setting. The incisive social commentary is made delightful by the drily hilarious narration, and I was really impressed by the pacing and the balance of character and plot. The audiobook reader is excellent as well! I’ve read a lot of decent-to-middlingly-fun mysteries, and this book is a cut above.

This was a fun read. It's like a murder mystery in the not-too-distant future with aliens who communicate telepathically. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and how well-rounded the main character was written. I can't say much about the plot so I don't give anything away, but the twists and turns were fun and I found the ending satisying and enjoyable. The chapters were fairly short, but there were lots of them, which I also liked.

I received this book for free in a Goodreads giveaway. This review is my honest opinion and not influenced by anyone.

Murder mystery, except the murder victim is an alien you work for and you're not very good at solving mysteries.

The setup to this book is so good and its concepts and characters are very endearing, but at some point it gets a little too convoluted to fully stick the landing when it comes to the murder mystery

If I'd seen that this was the same person behind Welcome To Our Village, Please Invade Carefully sooner, I probably would've expected the tone of this a bit more.
