I really enjoyed this. I love how Will was all in! So many sweet moments!

I realize that the entire plot was around Will and Charlotte wanting to be together, but not being able to because Kelsey (Will’s sister and Charlotte’s best friend) forbid it. That whole setup (it’s usually an older brother forbidding his sister from dating his friend) is one of my least favorite in books, but Will and Charlotte were so sweet and handled it well (eventually) that I didn’t mind it as much as I usually do.

Super cute!

This book was really well written. Charlotte just kinda of annoyed me. She swore to her best friend Kelsey she wouldn’t date the brother Will. It was made 10 yes prior to the storyline. I get that Will didn’t date seriously. So it made her nervous bc she thought he was a playboy. However she was a little ridiculous about it. She wanted to hide their relationship, he didn’t want to. They had a gala to attend and he wanted her to go as his date. She didn’t want to and told him they each had to bring a date so Kelsey wouldn’t get suspicious. Then she gets all mad at Will bc his date was hanging all over him yet her date was constantly touching her??? What? This girl just confused the crap out of me.
I mean this is what he told her before the gala

“I’m not giving up like this. I let you go once. It was the biggest mistake I ever made. I’m not doing it again. Let’s talk to Kelsey. Let’s make this right.”

Time after time he was there for her yet she kept saying he was going to break her heart. Play with her emotions when in reality that is EXACTLY what she did. This is how she felt about their relationship. Plus this is after he flat out tells her he’s in love with her

“What if I just hurt my best friend beyond repair for a relationship that is doomed to end in disaster?”

Will’s response

“I’m not the one that wanted to keep this relationship under wraps. I love you. I want everyone to know. I don’t want to keep hiding like what we share is something wrong or something to be ashamed of. I don’t see us ending. This is just the beginning.”

I mean over and over he fought for the relationship and she just ran away or hides it. So who’s the one playing games and hurting people? It’s all her. I gave it 3 stars thought bc I enjoyed the writing. I felt the chemistry, frustration and disappointment in it. I look forward to reading more by this author.
