Loved the idea, and the plot was good. But the romance thing between the main characters was a bit much, and the focus on people's sex appeal and the actual sex scenes ruined it for me. This is the 2nd book I've read by this author, and had the same issue, so probably wouldn't read another by her.

Perfecto! The writer continuously makes you think 'Wait, she has to be the killer. Wait, no, she can't be. Actually, maybe.." Jordan was a great character, and Darlene was very smart. I liked the little Robby Joe storyline. At one point, I considered Tammy being the killer when they mentioned how unstable she was. It was only towards the end I figured out it was Darlene!

I am starting on a Stephen King book next, but once I've finished that and the one after it (Also Stephen King) I will not hesitate to read another one of Barton's.

This book was way too predictable...and for supposedly highly intelligent characters, they were way too slow on the uptake. Not to mention the main character was portrayed saint-like and it made her more irritating than endearing.

This was the 5th book in the Griffin Powell series. It begins with the death of Senator Dan Price. This book is filled with unexpected twists as Powell Agent Rick Carson investigates in Senator Price's current wife's past.

I really enjoyed this book. The entire time I felt this huge sense of foreboding wherever Jordan Harris Brannon Price was concerned. Barton has an amazing way of telling a story and she also has a way of reeling you in within the first 40 or so pages.

The characters were deeply flawed, which is always good. Unflawed characters are pretty much impossible to relate to and typically boring. Jordan Price was really intriguing to me, she seemed like a troubled person, with an even more troubled past and I was really hoping to find out if she was the person behind it all. Rick Carson was also an interesting character because he came off as this tough guy who didn't need anybody. When in reality he was just as needy as everyone else, just he was.. better at hiding it.

This book is in the Griffin Powell series, although he wasn't a strong character in this novel. What I mean by that is, he wasn't really a main character, he wasn't included in every aspect of the story; only once and a while. Even still, this book was amazing!

I figured all the plot twists out way too easily.
