Like with their other books, this one is filled with good tips and lots of encouragement. This one is about picking a system that works for you and the maintenance you want to put into it. It's, of course, also filled with beautiful photos.
This is mainly a marketing ploy for fans of the show, with lots of very posed images of rainbow-organized items against modern white backgrounds. There's some genuinely good organization information here, but it's nothing that you can't find in more practical, less fluffy books elsewhere, and the authors' ideas presume a spacious home and generous budget to achieve the looks they're recommending.
The pictures are pretty, but sometimes I wonder why people own 4 identical Christmas wreaths or six bins of tiny erasers. Also, how are their bedroom closets bigger than my kitchen? The written advice addresses limitations of small spaces but I wish there were pretty pictures of small spaces.
I just felt like this didn't really apply to the space I have in my house or the things I use/own. The pictures are very pretty to look at, but it seems like they base the items they use/buy solely on color in order to maintain a rainbow organizational system. That's just not feasible to me. Color-coding is the least of my concerns.
While they do have some tips that apply to those of us with smaller homes, they really only show pictures and examples of larger homes. Every picture shows massive pantries/closets/garages/entryways full of what seems like unlimited space. I want to see examples of successfully organized spaces that are of similar size to mine.
I was also hoping for more decluttering tips, but decluttering really isn't talked much about in this book.
