I have a love-hate relationship for this one. I love the richness of the story that Paige weaves together. I hate that I become so quickly invested in the characters that I’m on the edge of my seat. I love the depth of character development and growth she brings. I hate that I lose sleep over worrying what will happen next. I love that I can’t predict which way the story will take me. I hate that I can’t predict which way the story will take me. I loved her last book, so knew I wanted to read this one. Ellie meets Ash fresh out of university while interrailling through Europe. Three days to create a bond. As expected, I felt all the emotions and gutted at times, but she always had a way of bringing things full circle. I really loved the story, and definitely feel that I need to be emotionally prepared for her next one. This was a solid 4.5 ⭐️. Thank you so much to Paige Toon, the publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this e-ARC. I received a gifted advance review copy and I’m leaving my honest review voluntarily.

This book had my stomach in knots! It captivated me right from the start and I was desperate to follow Ellie and Ash’s journey over the years.

The writing was lovely and easy to follow, really engaging. I am such a sucker for second-chance romance. They always have such deep yearning and this idea of “what if”, that lingers in the back of the characters’ minds over time. This had all of that. What a rollercoaster this story was!

Did the characters have a lot of personal traumas and emotional immaturity that needed to be addressed? 100%. But I think that also comes with growing up and experiencing life at it’s worst. They both held onto so much anger, resentment, loss, and sadness over the years, so I think that also plays a huge role. We get to see the characters develop from their teen years to adulthood, and with that, become more of themselves.

Another classic by Toon. Found it a little slow to get into, but once I did I was hooked. Some parts jumped a but abruptly and I would've liked more explanation but still loved it.
