Without giving too much of the plot away, I'll just say that this is the story of two 20 something's, Ash and Elie, who are both interpooling in Europe alone, seeking the closure, freedom and independence that they seem to be missing in their lives. When Ash strikes up a conversation with Ellie and hours pass, the two realize they are enjoying the companionship and end up spending the next 3 days exploring together, until Ellie has to leave to meet her parents. I found parts of the story very charming and other parts incredibly frustrating. Ash and Ellie were not my favorite characters, but I did try to pull things out to like about them and their relationship. The atmospheric writing and descriptions of places was really well done and something I really love about Toon's work.

I have mixed feelings about this one b/c miscommunication is so frustrating, and this book has a lot of that.
However, it still worked for me. I'm a sucker for a second chance (when it's done well), and I love a book where you can explore a couple's past and go along with them as they reconnect and find their way back to each other... by figuring out themselves!

I think fans of Carley Fortune will like this book.... a love story with an emotional edge, a lot of heart, and characters you can't help but connect with, even though they really frustrate you.

Thank you Penguin Group Putnam, @putnambooks and NetGalley, @netgalley for my advance
