I hated it. I was so excited for this one after Seven Summers. I absolutely hated Ellie’s character. She had such high expectations with zero communication or accountability. The feelings that Ash and Ellie claimed to have after just three days was pretty exaggerated. A fond memory and feelings of “what if?” Understandable. Not moving on for YEARS though is insane to me. There were a lot of unresolved feelings, anger and hurt that could have been overcome by just TALKING. Also, the end was very anticlimactic. And that’s all for my rant

Ellie and Ash have a chance encounter as they are on solo interrailing through Europe. As they get to know each other over a three-day period they fall quick and hard. However, in all that time together they forget to discuss a few important things; like last name, phone numbers, etc. So, when their planned meet-up falls through, it doesn’t lead anywhere. Six years later, Ellie lands her dream job as a gardener on an estate house in Wales and runs into Ash again. Will they be able to reconnect? Will time have dampened their feelings?
I liked about 75-80% of this book. The meet cute on vacation love story was fun, the second chance meeting was also entertaining and fit with the storyline. However, the last part fell flat and felt like too much for me. I don’t want to say too much more so as not to spoil anything.
It was still a pretty enjoyable read, and if you enjoy second chance romances, this one may be up your alley!
It has already been published, so go grab a copy from your favorite book buying location!
Thank you to @netgalley for providing me with a free advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Paige Toon, what have you done to me!
This book hit me in all the feels. It triggered pretty much my entire dating life in my twenties, and then punched me in the gut repeatedly and then put me back together.
I’m not a romance reader so excuse me for HATING a third act break up - Paige Took follows the romance novel formula to a T, and it works so well BUT SORRY THAT I HATED IT CAUSE IT WAS TOO STRESSFUL. I just want all my love stories to be easy okay?!
But seriously, this was a total delight, a wonderful holiday romance, can’t complain. Will pick up another book by Paige Toon the next time I’m sitting poolside, for sure!

Ellie is the most annoying person ever, they should not have ended up together
This is a beautiful, heart-wrenching & romantic story from the ever-so-talented author of Seven Summers.
A chance encounter on a European interrailing trip leads Ellie on a journey she never expected. Charming, kind & irresistible, Ash helps her experience life to the fullest and captures her heart. Except when she arrives in Madrid...he's not there.
Six years pass without a word, and a shock reunion has Ellie questioning everything she thought she knew about him and herself.
Why didn't he turn up, and will she ever get over the man who encouraged her to be her best self?
