I read this entire book in one day! I loved it! It was a reincarnation of the excitement and joy of the first book that I read by Charlaine Harris! All of her other books have been good but this one hit a new all time high.

There is plenty of action, adventure, and mystery in this 9th installment. Plus we get a bonus of getting to know the characters in a deeper and more complex way. All and all, an A+. I loved this book and can't wait for the next one to come out! :)

Another solid Sookie outing. Now that I am at the end of the books that are currently released, I feel a little let down. I need more Sookie. Maybe it's time to watch the True Blood series?

Oh, the suspense! Will Charlaine Harris write the next one and tell us Bill's fate?!?!
I read the kindle version--this is the second book I'm reading on a kindle. It may be a user issue (i.e. I could reset a preference), but the justification was such that it resulted in same line issue such as "gor geousness"

What I Did Like:
+The opening is off to a good start! It feels more like the early books in the series, action-packed and emotional right from the jump.
+The extra focus on the fairies wasn’t bad. I liked the details we did get and the danger they brought to the story. Plus, they bring out the best side of Sookie’s creativity with regard to arming herself!
+The danger was upped in this one which sort of brought a darker mood to the story. Honestly, I liked that! It made it different enough from the rest and that’s important in a series that’s gone on this long.
+The romance line worked. Of course, I’ve been a fan of one particular suitor for a long time so that’s probably a spoiler of sorts. Some scenes were spicier than the early books, so be warned if you aren’t a fan of that.

Who Should Read This One:
-Obviously, fans of the series will keep going.
-If you like vampires, werewolves, telepathy, and slightly spicy scenes in otherwise action packed books … give the series a try!

My Rating: 3 Stars

This is a really good installment for the "Sookie Stackhouse" series, i really enjoyed it. These books are soooo different to the tv series and I would be interested to see where they go with the series once they get to this book, as there's so many differences. As always there's a huge mystery that needs to be solved and as always Sookie is dragged into the middle of it. But this time Sookie is in the worst danger she's been in and one of the scenes at the end really disturbed me.... The ending is left wide open so I look forward to the next book. Oh and of course there's a bit of raunchy sex haha! (Can't leave that out!)
