Some of the concepts employed in this novel are interesting and I rather liked the conclusion, but I found the book slow reading .

It started out so strong. You cared about them. It’s fast paced. There’s a slog in the middle but it picks up at the end
adventurous funny mysterious fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: No

A really fun time travel caper involving searchers looking for the American dream. (Clines even talks in the back about how he understands that in these particular times, this plot might be a little too fluffy, but he knows that that’s important too.) I really like Clines’s writing, and I often like in it too early Stephen King. Sometimes the Narrative feels a little over stuff, but I always enjoyed it, and recommend it!

A rollicking time-travel ("travel in history") romp in a Gaiman/Pratchettesque tone! Not as dark as "14" or "The Fold", but just as twisty-turny (and be on the look-out for an Easter Egg to those two novels). Mr. Cline, when is your next novel coming...I can't wait to read it!

Only two starts, because the mechanism of time travel is never explained. Overall, I was unimpressed. Instead, read Up the Line by Robert Silverberg. It's a little more fun.

Time travel, heists, a bunch of interesting characters, lots of quirky American history (often quite tongue-in-cheek)...tremendous fun!

Excellent book if you don't think about it too hard. Otherwise you get the time travel headaches.

I won this book in a giveaway. I liked the banter between Harry and Eli. Peter Clines does humorous dialogue very well. I also enjoyed that the relationship between the two main wasn't the same old, and it was nice to see their friendship develop. I wish that the author went deeper into a few things, but then we would be looking at an 800-page book.
