Good story, good pace, relatable characters. I wish the author had known what a rumble seat actually was, though.

Spoiler-Free Review.
I received this book as part of the BookCase Club subscription box. I definitely would not have picked up this book for myself.
I found the book to be okay. It was not great...but it wasn't awful. The plot was interesting, but slow-moving. I feel like this story would best be suited for a TV-Movie.
I liked Harry. She was not a damsel in distress and more times than not, saved the main character. Her character felt developed and consistent throughout the story.
Eli, on the other hand, did not feel consistent. He seemed plain, confused, unsure at the beginning of the story...and then it seemed like he just suddenly understood how to solve things within a week's time that no one else could solve in years.
Overall, I am glad to have received and read a book that is not within the norm for me.

Paradox Bound by Peter Clines is an bit of a mind-bending history-travel (not "time travel"!) story. I enjoyed the ideas of his previous Ex-Heroes series, and I like sci-fi and time-travel stories, so I gave this one a shot, and it was entertaining. It didn't knock my socks off, but it's executed well enough that I never felt the urge to walk away from it.
The story follows the life of Eli, whose life is shaped by a series of encounters with a mysterious woman who drives a Model A automobile. He meets her once when he's a boy, again when he's a teen, and again as an adult. Each meeting leaves him more curious about who she is, as she never seems to age, and how he can help her, as she's being pursued by men without faces each time he comes across her.
This might be more accurately referred to as fantasy, as the characters "slip" through history based on... something? But it plays with many of the tropes of the sf time-travel genre in interesting ways, and provides a few interesting alternative hypotheses to historical figures along the way.

Started off okay, but quickly turned in to some silliness with George Washington and Ben Franklin hiring an egyptian god to make some sort of physical American Dream....stupid.
