Wow, this book had me hooked. I fell in love with these characters and their story. There are so many different personalities and dynamics at work, but god do they work. There is so much tension between them all but also so many funny banter moments that really help to lighten it up. Lilly's internal monologue had me in fits at points. Do check trigger warnings as there are some tough topics and scenes discussed.

Dnef . The amount of cringe sentences actually made me want to cry. The smut was too much like why you need to bang bang all the time ? There was no connection between the characters in my opinion and why is she walking around naked all the time

HOLY HELL ROSA!! So i read Tarnished Embers (by the same author) and I thought that was wild. This one gave it a run for its money with action starting like almost literally 3 pages in.
Why choose, morally grey, reverse harem, 5-person POV with internal monologues. All characters were likeable and the story was very bang first, actual story later, but it still was able to show character development for all MCs. It’s a trilogy with a prequel novella and i was debating on not completing the series but i was curious about all the unanswered plot points so I’ll be reading. ROSA GOT ME HOOKED.

Everything started to feel very one dimensional/flat. The FMC was not my cup of tea and the boys only amplified that feeling.

Okay so I have mixed feelings about this book. I enjoyed the insta-love aspect, but only as it was a nice break from bully/enemies-to-lovers romances. I think there is great potential to see how the mystery of Lilly's mother plays out in the rest of the series. I can't deny the spice is there but for once I might say it's possibly there to the detriment of the story progression, occurring multiple times every chapter. I also won't lie I had some cringe moments that I just kind of skimmed over reading. I am going to tackle the 2nd book as I'm curious and have hope for preogression but overall Book 1 just possible fell in the mid line for me.
