This is a very heartwarming story filled with hope, growth, friendship, and of course, magic! This story really highlights the beauty and healing power of nature and the importance of connection with nature and people. This is a magical story about childhood and the grief that can overcome people and how it can steal health from your body. But it also explores the wonder of a child and the hope that comes from finding the magic in the world, and maybe that’s all we need to heal what ails our aching souls. I didn’t understand the underlying messages from this story as a child, but as an adult, I truly appreciate the beauty in this book.

I've been wanting to read this book for a few years. I don't know what I expected but it was less "magical? than I thought it would be. It was interesting to look into that time and that location, though. I liked the "broad yorkshire" and the different cultures it incorporated. I enjoyed reading about the animals and how there was even the point of view of the Robin at one point. also the food sounded really good. haha
