This book is interesting to me. Most of it just proves that the humour TommyInnit's channel is based around doesn't very well translate into written form. There were some jokes I appreciated, though. I even laughed out loud a few times. Still, for someone supposedly the prime audience, that's kinda meh. That being said, while I check most boxes for the target demographic, I am an avid reader (or try to be) and thus will of course have different expectations for a book than the general fanbase.
I mainly bought this book for the sake of the charity, to be honest. The concept didn't sound too riveting from the start, and the book didn't manage to change my mind. The sections that weren't quotes were more interesting, but largely dominated by a quirky kind of humour that got old quickly. I also think the illustrations sometimes we're not just pointless (most of them added little if anything to the quotes) but entirely unrelated or deliberately misconstruing the quotes in a way that wasn't witty or particularly interesting.
Overall, I don't regret buying the book, but only because the proceeds go to charity. The one quote per page formatting sometimes felt like they were just trying to up the page count. The book often wasn't interesting and only sometimes funny. However, younger people and non-readers might enjoy it a lot more than me.
