this is the alex finlay I know and love!!!! I absolutely destroyed this one in a day 😅 the fast paced, heart pounding story had me SWEATING!

the gruesome crime story played out with dual timelines and dual POVs to give the readers glimpses of what really happened without giving too much away! aka my favorite super sleuth ideology 😮‍💨

and what a solution it was!!! it fit together a little too perfectly for my liking, and the final suspects came out of left field. it wasn’t completely unexpected, but I wanted to see a little more build up to the conclusion.

I loved seeing from the eyes of both matt, the main character, and the detective, sarah, to give both stories a worthy arc! I was invested from start to finish folks

alex finlay is an auto buy author for me, so I’m so happy I loved his debut too!

Loved the audiobook for this. Engaging from start to finish and the characters were likeable, I was more invested in the outcome than I have been compared to the other thrillers I’ve read lately. A bit tragic, but really great.

Stayed up until 1 am to finish this. So much more than a thriller, a really beautiful portrayal of family, pain, and love.

Mystery of a family torn apart by the murder conviction of a son.  Told in a non-sequential format, it is easy to get confused by the plot with all the red herrings and subplots.  The perpetrator is fairly easy to guess although the author does a decent job in the last few chapters in keeping your interest in what ultimately happens high.

This was heading into 5-Star territory until that ending...ugh. I can't really expand on that without giving away spoilers, so I will just say that I think the story needed a few more chapters to flesh the ending out more. I feel like the "why" explanation was rushed and glossed over. However, that aside, this was an amazing debut novel. It was fast-paced. Engaging. An extensive cast of characters and POVs that keep the mystery moving along, and yours truly guessing right up to the end.

So overall, I enjoyed it. I just wish the author had given us a bit more in the ending.

WOW!!! This book is hard to put down. Very well written, changing chapters among all the main characters was the way to go. The reader was given clues but not enough to guess who and why everything unfolded the way it did. Agent Keller was a bad ass, I loved the very last chapter from her. Definitely will recommend to all my thriller seeker friends.
