edit: lol just found out my "book one" actually collected the whole Little Bird story (im new to comics and easily confused okay). art, premise, and characters still incredible! but im bummed that we didn't get to actually sit with the world and characters more instead of the nonstop action. soo out of possibly unfair bitterness — 3 stars instead of 4 :*

loved this graphic novel and cant wait to read the rest of the series. art style is gorgeous and the characters + world are really compelling right away. i love the fast paced speed at the beginning since it keeps u on the edge of ur seat,, i do wish later on there was some slower-paced time to hear different characters in convo with each other or just see them be in the world (especially learning more about the social / political / historical relationship between the different parts of the 'resistance' to this christian-fascist american empire — indigenous peoples, white canadians, genetically modified people, and the american defectors / double agents), but maybe that'll happen in future installments. also apparently theyre making a prequel book so im sure that will dig into that^. the art is super bloody which im sometimes not partial too but it works great here !!

This does have some graphic content. But the writing, plot, and art are all highly interesting. The story is brutal, and is very reminiscent of historical takeovers of native lands by European settlers. The main character is a child who has essentially lost everything and seeks to fulfill the mission set forth by her tribal elders. It left me eagerly awaiting the next issue in the series.

This was a (not subtle at all) dig at religious institutions not knowing when to fuck off and always trying to reign over everything and I'm living for it

Weird and with gore. Sign me up for more. Not a huge fan of the artwork but it works with the story.

Dark and twisted

It is a very strange twisted story with a lot different concepts. It is scary some of the parallels you can see but I am a little lost as to the full story. Am looking forward to reading more, heavy storyline at the moment.

Really cool. And really visceral (literally). Brings new meaning to "lights of endangered species."
