It says I’ve marked this as read on 16 Oct 2013. Not entirely sure if I finished reading in 2013 or that’s when I marked it and in reality finished it 1-2 years before that.
All I remember is finishing this book in the back of my dad’s jeep on our way to Bahrain from Khobar. I was the only one at the back and my mom wondered why I was so quiet until she realised I had my head in the book.
I remember when I finished it, I just felt a warm pleasant sense of nostalgia for my childhood and perhaps the book itself and a calm and content poignancy (the latter is such an oxymoron). I remember my emotions but can’t pinpoint what to.

Love reading about Roald Dahl's childhood, can see how it's informed some of his fiction.
Really funny and interesting for any Roald Dahl fan.
