Life events made finishing this book take longer than necessary. I absolutely loved it, such an amazing second book. My only regret is waiting so long in between, but it just makes me want to reread the series eventually.

The first book in this series gripped me and I devoured it. This one took me MONTHS to slog through. It wasn’t bad by any means. The characters were still solid, the writing and pacing were good, the plot was interesting (though I loathe time travel), I just couldn’t get into it. While I was reading I enjoyed it but I found myself forgetting to pick it back up. I think it’s just a case of right book, wrong time. I stand by it being worth reading, would absolutely recommend it to lovers of epic fantasy, and will pick up the final installment. Eventually.

The flashbacks are hard to follow and understanding who is the good gods or evil equally confusing, there are a lot of good things but the overall world gets confusing to follow at times. I feel I would need to read this a second time to fully understand everything going on in the world, that being said the characters and there stories great to follow with nice twists
