Our protagonist is Donovan Creed, a name I find rather similar sounding to Jonathan Creek (a BBC drama series featuring an illusions expert who solves seemingly impossible crimes). Creed is not Creek, he is employed as a counter terrorist operative by homeland security, who moonlights as an assassin if the price is right.
As the title might suggest there is a high body count, particularly when a gangland boss blows up a hotel in an attempt to eliminate our protagonist.
There is some humour, or attempts thereof:
The plot requires a little suspension of disbelief, like when the hero along with an army of midgets in a Winnebago head for the baddie’s hideout. The hero has no money worries and plenty of high tech weaponry from his official employers.
The plot is pacy but it could do with more twists and perhaps a proper climax, in the end it is a little disappointing.

When you have survived a bomb blast and more than a hundred people didn’t, it’s hard to focus on rumors of a possible hickey on Paris Hilton’s neck.

Ok. Not the best written book Ive ever read. Yet Donovan Creed is a likeable rogue (an understatement I know given he us an assassin for hire). I love that he cares, if not about the people he kills, but at least about sone people. I love it that he can bake. I love it that he shares the wealth around. I suppose someone has to do his job so it might as we be him. Finished this and starting immediately on Lethal Experiment.
It was difficult for me to get into the story, but in the end it was a fun read. Curious if the next books in the series can keep that feeling present.

I thought this book was okay. I thought it had a lot of cliches and I found it frustrating after a while. Some of the actions was really good- but overall I was really disappointed
This book was part of a bargain bundle and I'm really glad I got it. The main character, being a hired killer, makes an unconventional hero. The narration, bordering on slapstick humor, combined with fast paced-action makes this book a thoroughly enjoyable quick read.
Yay!!! finally finished this book!!! It went forever, and I kept getting sidetracked... I put this book down about three times to read other books, it just couldn't keep my attention for long. Which is sad. I really wanted to enjoy it, because I'd heard good things about it, but it was just so much different to what I normally read and I couldn't get into it. This sounds really bad for me lol, but I think it was because I had to think too much, when I normally just like to get lost in books. There was so many different parts to this book and I had to keep thinking back... I'd say the fact that I was reading other books in between plays a big part in this, but there was so much to remember.
I give this book a 3 because even though I personally didn't like it, it was fantastically written and the main characters are perfect and well thought through in relation to the storyline.

This was a pretty entertaining book. Totally mindless and not very deep but entertaining none the less.
Weird book. The "hero" is a pretty nasty fella yet you still sort of root for him or don't mind reading about his antics. Very different from the usual crime thrillers! Quite graphic in some descriptions mind.
