Brilliant audio performances, but lackluster story. Ho-hum.

Such a fun mini-read (or in this case, Audible listen!).

Det. Harney sends his new partner, Kate, deep undercover. Too deep. Suddenly, their prime suspect is a young video gaming star who has a jump drive with names of people buying drugs. The 'black book' has, of course, some high-ranking names on it and Harney needs to find it in order to solve two murders. If he doesn't Kate is going to take the rap for them and Harney is not certain she's guilty of anything...

Fun, quick pace, and a nice breeze of a read.

Very entertaining “audio drama” starring one of my favorite detectives Billy Harney. This is a prequel to The Black Book which follows the same characters.

Really good for a freebie, of course it makes me want to listen to the next ones in the series which aren't free

this felt like an AI writer compiled all cop story cliches and wrote a book. no real person or relatively experienced writer could come up with this. my 4 y/o friends' crayon sketch animals have more layers than the characters in this book. this is just James Patterson's cash grab and I don't feel good about it. if it wasn't a free audible book I would have never consumed it. very very disappointing, ugh.
