I can't believe I reached the last one!!! Well.. the last one published!! I may have to start all over!!!! :) I loved how we had to wait to the VERY end to find out Kaia's animal! I don't want this series to ever end!!! Ms. Singh keeps her storylines fresh and interesting!! Never a dull moment! Always a surprising twist in there somewhere!!

The world has forgotten that humans are the bridge.

Ocean Light takes use into the BlackSea Changeling world and the Human Alliance where we see doubt, over coming the odds, betrayal, fears, and making new friendships. Those that have kept up with the Psy-Changeling world know that things are changing and all the races are trying to get along, but their is one group that doesn’t want to see things succeed.

Bowen Knight is a true Knight in all the right ways. He’s had a difficult past that has shaped him into the man that he is today. I enjoyed learning about Bowen and seeing him change from the Security Chief and Leader of the Human Alliance into a man who can find happiness when he never thought he’d have the chance or be capable of it. Kaia is a water changeling who has caged herself to life in the underwater compound. I was proud of Kaia in facing her fears and over come them.

We finally get to dive into the sea and learn about the BlackSea Changelings. It was interesting learning about the water changelings and watching Bowen try to figure out what everyone is. Up until now we’ve only seen glimpses of the sea changelings and we know next to nothing about them. We do get to meet a bunch of new characters and a few previous characters popping up, but it’s a whole new world with the water changelings.

Kaia and Bowen’s romance is a slow romantic bloom. The Knight who notices everything and the Siren who soothes the Knights heart.

I enjoyed Ocean Light. It did take me longer to read; because the pace is slower and we spend the majority of our time under water watching Bowen and Kaia’s building romance. I would have liked more action, but all and all Ocean Light was a delightful read.

I enjoyed getting to see some of the inner workings of BlackSea, but the romance and mystery didn't interest me that much - Kaia was a little too super-powered and it felt like aspects of the mystery just existed to propel the overarching plot of the series forward. Enjoyable, but not a book I'm deeply attached to.

I want to re-read aka listen to the changeling series. This new series makes me miss that series *sigh* Miiiiss it! Also I kind of jumped around and never finished it. I love all the cameos. I miss it.

Here we meet Bowen Knight, leader of the Alliance and right now in a coma. He also has a chip in his brain that keeps him save from Psy, but the chip will also kill him in a few weeks. He might be the one that saves others, if he lets them play with his brain. Oh and Bowen is a great guy and is all up to be a guinea pig. He loves his people and even though he is all tough, he is still so soft and likable.

Kaia is a water changeling (it takes forever for us to find ut which one, but I guessed right ;) She lives far far in the dark on a hidden station. And she is awesome. She loves deeply; her friends, her acquaintances, her people. She deserves to be loved back.

Most of the book takes place on this underwater station and I liked seeing them falling in love even if time is not on their side. They were so easy to like. And everyone on the station were just awesome. Like the Bibi and Carlotta! Ha, those two were funny. I really enjoyed the cast and I kept wondering if anyone we meet is the next couple for the book. (I am thinking Cassius and a Psy we have not met ;)

There is someone who makes a cameo, and I have not read that particular book, but I am all must listen to it!

Good book. Romance, suspense and one amazing world

Narrator Angela Dawe
I can still her Kaia voice in my head, awww, good times. I like how she played everyone. She made me feel part of the changeling family

Ocean Light is the much anticipated book featuring Bowen Knight, a character who first appeared early on in Singh's Psy-Changeling series. First an enemy, then an ally, Bo is the leader of the Human Alliance. His abhorrence to psychic interference runs deep, which causes him to have a chip implanted into his brain which blocks psychic powers. Unfortunately the chip isn't without faults and it begins to degrade, putting Bo's life in danger (this all happens previous to the start of this book). He comes to the undersea BlackSea changeling group in a coma after being injured in the previous book.

While Bo isn't my favorite character in the Psy-Changeling world, he has always interested me. When I heard that he was getting his own book set in the underwater changeling world, I was pretty excited. Originally I rated this 4 stars but am downgrading slightly to 3 mostly because, months after initially reading the book, I can't remember much about it. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy it at the time. However, I feel like it needs to stand out more if I am going to give it 4 stars.

Things I liked about this book. We're under water! Singh has shown us glimpses of BlackSea before but they're very secretive. This book gives us an inside look at the underwater changeling group and it's so cool! I love all of the different underwater changelings. Most of the characters keep their changeling animal under wraps to outsiders but it's not too hard to guess what animal they become based on their personality.

I also liked Bo and Kaia together. Bo hasn't had a whole lot of joy in his life and Kaia is so warm and loving. She makes a great counterpoint to Bo. Both of them have to overcome some deep seated fears in this book with the other's support. Their romance is a very sweet one.

As always, Singh manages to suck me into this complex and fascinating world that she has created. This was a fun read and I am looking forward to the next book in the Psy-Changeling series!

2nd time around

I'm reading this entire series again for the second time around and it's even better than the first read! The connections made throughout each book are a beautiful accomplishment. Each book just pulls me in and this one made me have all the feels. Kaia and Bowen's story is so heartfelt. It helped me understand them and their people so much better now. Definitely a must read.

It took me longer than usual to get into this book. I normally love this series but something about this one made me struggle to care - whether it was because the characters were unfamiliar or the story was a lot slower to get off the ground I don't know. I feel the characters didn't have the same chemistry as some of the others but I warmed up to them by the end of the book.
