I didn't really connect with the main female character, Finley. It kind of just made me think of over-sexualized beauty and the beast. I love both of those things but I couldn't really like Finley. I tried. And there was the scene with the sort of not consent and it bothered me that this was 'acceptable' in this world. I enjoy the primal-ness of the shifter genre, the idea that there is a completely separate animal soul inside you and it can be very erotic in spicy novels. Buuuuut, there was only 2.5 souls consenting in their very first smexy scene. JUST wait!!! It would be much better when all four souls are on board. I did not like that, but pushed past it and then the relationship developed alright, and I was actually enjoying the equality fighting side of Finley, but I just couldn't stay interested.

Flip-flopped between really enjoying the plot and characters to being incredibly bored by the sex scenes. There were a number of poorly-explained plot details as well.

I absolutely love this series! I honestly was frustrated with Nyfain but after reading the last chapter, I understand where he is coming from. I am excited to see where this goes because Finley is badass.

Damn this book was funny and steamy and I just love the characters, especially the two main characters. Finley had me laughing out loud, which was surprising to me. The world is interesting and the plot intriguing. It did slow down a bit in this one, but it was so entertaining it didn't really matter.

I only borrowed the second book to see where the story went. I'm clearly not the demographic for this book, but at least the tale was going somewhere in the first. This seems to have devolved into a sex fest and the storyline all but disappeared... definitely not going to be reading the third.
