"Arthur what's with this dog motif?"
"Do you have something against dogs?"
"Do you have something against dogs?"
Geh, of course this is great. Duh. No wonder fans called this the best Sherlock Holmes case. This one really put you on the edge of your seat like there is always something important that happened in each chapter so none of the chapters felt like it's just a filler or something. I really like the emotional roller coaster I experienced when they're closing in on the killer. Great book!

So far my favourite of the Sherlock Holmes books - I'm working my way through from first to last. Holmes doesn't appear much, Dr Watson, our trusty narrator also did most of the work on this one. Maybe because it's a novel, rather than a short mystery there was more time to fill in the detail so it was more satisfying.

I’ve always loved Sherlock Holmes and wanted to read the books. I’m now very glad that I did. The writing style still feels fresh even though it’s from a different century and the way the story unfolds made me want to keep on reading. Highly recommend.
