I can´t believe I´ve never before read anything from Arthur Conan Doyle, he´s absolutely brilliant!

This is now my favorite book. It even has an entailment!

A classic mystery novel for a reason. The narrative of Dr Watson is something pretty unique for a Sherlock story, as Holmes's absence allows for Conan Doyle to take a completely different route. The setting of the moor is also probably one of the best locations in a mystery thriller, and the author describes it beautifully and masterfully builds a threatening and creepy atmosphere. And of course, the resolution to the case is thrilling as always.

3.5 ⭐️

If you haven't read this classic, you've heard of it. Among the ranks of Christie and King for the greatest, and perhaps spookiest yet thoroughly exciting and richly enjoyable mysteries, lies this novel—one that engraved Doyle's name on the hearts of suspense-lovers forever.

One of my favourites of Conan Doyle’s collection. I love the descriptions of Dartmoor and hearing about it in the 19th century.

Conan Doyle knew how to build atmosphere and keep the plot going at the same time. I always enjoy Sherlock and Watson and this was no exception. Loved it!

This was just such a fun read. Quick, entertaining and just what a good book should be!
