3.5 ⭐️! If you liked ACOTAR, you will LOVE this!

When will the girls in fantasy books learn that they should never trust the first magical man who’s interested in them! It never ends well!

This was such an interesting read. It was decently slow paced at the start but then really picked up towards the end. The magic system is a little confusing to me, I feel like the Ever’s magic wasn’t explained very well, but I still found it cool nonetheless. The main character, Edira, has such a strong connection with her family and it’s so heartwarming to see how she will do anything for her brothers. Overall this was a great fantasy book and I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to see what happens in future books!

Thank you to Netgalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for this E-ARC for my honest review.

I found this boring and I didn’t really care. It felt like a ripoff of Court of Thorns and Roses but poorly done.

Thank you SOOOO much to Harper Collins for my gifted copy in exchange for an honest review.

A dark, gothic fantasy that pulled me in from the start!

After reading the prologue, I worried the book might be A LITTLEEEE too frightening for my taste—but I was completely wrong. Once I dove in I read the first 8 chapters in one sitting, I couldn’t stop. The story had me HOOKED.

The atmosphere is deeply dark and gothic, perfect for fans of eerie, immersive fantasy. We follow Edira, a desperate sister who strikes a dangerous bargain with an Ever—a mysterious being with otherworldly powers—to save her brothers from a deadly blight. Orin, the Ever, takes her under his wing, bringing her into his home and enlisting his brother to help train her. But things get even more complicated when Edira finds herself drawn to BOTH brothers—adding delicious tension to an already high-stakes story.

The pacing is lightning-fast, which I love and cuts straight into the action. Plot twists really had me at the edge of my seat. A little spicy and I’m expecting for the heat to kick up in book 2. While there was a slight lull in the middle, the intensity picked back up around the 75% mark, leading to a gripping finale.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this dark, romantic fantasy and can’t wait to continue the series!
