Eerie gothic fantasy with a love triangle. The vibe gives similar vibes to Dawn of Onyx book with healer magic and brothers in trouble leading her down the path she never planned to have. If you love gothic vibes and eerie magic this story is for you. Although Edira is a well balanced main character who is trying to adapt to her new life the story is a tad predictable. The world is very well laid out and it's easy to understand what the immortal beings are and how their magic kind of works (I feel like it'll be explained more later). The story has the tension and pull towards both male characters that you kind of root for both. The side characters and interactions are well balanced and they bring more depth to the story. I absolutely enjoyed it and was happy to read. I love healer FMC and it's a nice treat from the action packed romantasys on the market.

Thank you NetGalley and Harper voyager for the opportunity to read this arc.

I can see the potential with this one but the execution was a bit meh, the plot just dragged and it was longer than it needed to be. I did like the FMC and interested where her story is gonna go with the brother I wanted her to get with all along!!

I really enjoyed this book. It has a bit of twists I didn’t see coming. The magic was great and I truly hated Orin at the end. It was a quick read with no real slowish parts.

I really enjoyed reading this book.  I liked that at times, it had this sort of eerie, macabre feeling to the story, and since I don't typically read a lot of books with that sort of vibe, it was a nice change.  In this book, there is this deadly sickness and when the main character's (Edira) brothers contracts the sickness she makes a bargain with Orin Fernglove, an Ever (the Evers are pretty much this world's version of the fae) to find a cure for the sickness.  The Evers are wicked and untrustworthy, but Edira is desperate to save her brothers.  Edira also has the ability to heal others but to her own detriment (whenever she heals someone else, she suffers).  I liked that there is a bit of a mystery going on in the story and that you don't really know who to trust or believe.  There were some moments that kind of played out how I expected, but overall, I thought it was a pretty enjoyable read.  This book does sort of feel that at the end the main conflict of the book was resolved but there is still a lingering background conflict that I feel will become the main plot of the next book so I am definitely looking forward to the next book.  I really liked how this book felt different from most of my usual reads, so I'm happy that I read it.

I really enjoyed House of Blight! The magic and gothic feel of this world and story was really interesting and unique. The characters were well-developed, and there was a strong (and stubborn) female lead.

There were a couple of things that bothered me, though. We are just supposed to accept this is the way the world is with alien/monsters and modern-day cursing in a gothic tale. I suppose I wanted a little more introductory world building to help guide us into this space. Also, like with ACOTAR, I breezed through this because of the story but had trouble with some aspects of the romance. I don’t like the idea of a man claiming a woman—and she’s fine with it. Roar at someone else, please.

The ending completes the story but also hints at what’s coming in book 2. I look forward to the next chapter of Edira’s story!

It reads like a fairy tale. , immersive setting and descriptive. I loved the writing. The Fae are fantastical and lean heavy into lore. There are easy plot hints and a twist I didn’t see coming. I had a fun time and  can’t wait for book 2.
