I read this as part of Jonathan Ball Publishers' readalong, and I loved every second of it! The gothic atmosphere was so immersive, I genuinely struggled to stick to the daily chapter limits. It’s a haunting, slow burn read that had me hooked from start to finish. (And when I say slow burn, I mean real slow burn.)

The plot definitely takes centre stage over the romance, so keep that in mind if you're planning to pick this up. The major plot twist didn’t hit quite as hard for me as I expected, but that might just be a personal thing.

Overall, this was a fun, mystical read, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone craving a gothic fantasy with romance as a subplot!
