Great introduction to the dragons of Pern.

01/30/2017. I am not sure how many times I have read these first 6 books of the Pern series, but it was just what I needed, an old favorite.

i very much enjoyed this simple coming of age story. menolly has great musical talent--but it is put down and hidden because she is a girl and the custom of her hold says that girls cannot be harpers. she is abused so much she ends up running away to find a new life with fire lizards, but must be wary of the ever present danger of thread.
