This cute atmospheric novella had so much potential! I loved the Scottish setting and all the cozy Christmas vibes!
I feel like it needed to be a full novel, rather than just a novella. It felt way too rushed. There were plot holes and points where it felt a bit too cheesy/unbelievable. I think with a full length novel, a lot of that could have been avoided. There were also a couple times when I couldn’t believe the FMC could be that dumb.
Overall I thought it was cute but poorly executed.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the copy of this eARC!

This was a great little start to my christmas reading. This was fun, flirty and quick. The two leads had a bit on instalove which might have been cured had this book been a smidge longer. Also the main like stumbling block of this book was resolved quickly - in fact any problem that came about for either of our protagonists was wrapped up a wee bit too quickly. But it was a nice premise. I loved the setting.

Highlands Christmas - Wishes Come True was a sweet little Christmas romance. This novella was a short read. At 162 pages, I read it in one sitting. It was very entertaining and had all the Hallmark movie vibes.
Melissa MacKenzie's husband announces he wants a divorce immediately after they have finished entertaining for Thanksgiving, and he wants her out of the house. Reeling and with nowhere to go, Melissa gets a mysterious letter telling her she's inherited a house in Scotland. Melissa immediately packs up and books a flight to Scotland, and on the way, she ends up traveling with her husband's divorce lawyer!
A mysterious letter, an impromptu trip, and bumping into your husband's divorce lawyer doesn't at all set this book up for some misadventures. As is expected with a Hallmark movie story vibe, there are some aspects of the story that seem a little unrealistic. But, if you go into this story looking for a fun adventure / romance, then you will definitely fall for this book.
I am looking forward to reading book 2 - Highlands New Year.

This book was warm and fuzzy! I love a good Christmas read and this really gave it to me with the festive descriptions. It was really fast paced and the beginning was a little bit like "woah that was pure luck" (or the magic of Christmas) but after that we go on a little Christmas adventure with some Scottish representation and a bit of romance.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.
Highlands Christmas is a cozy, fast holiday novella. While I enjoyed learning about the food and customs mentioned in the story, the writing felt flat to me. Even in a novella, depth and richness can be had but it didn’t work for me in this book. The encounters between Melissa and Colin were cute but I didn’t feel their chemistry. I was also incredibly frustrated by Melissa’s ignoring red flags and her naïveté.

This is one of those warm cozy blanket books. Low stakes. Not a lot really happens. But you feel good reading it.
The writing style took a minute to get into, and I’m still not sure it’s a favorite style for me, but it made for easy reading.
Unfortunately, cozy reads aren’t really for me; I need something to keep it interesting, but I will say having just visited the Highlands, and Inverness, this book definitely brought me back there!
Thank you to Flying Cactus and @netgalley for providing me an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
