this addition to the Dark series was definitely very action-packed and had a wild twist that I did not see coming. I wasn't too crazy about the aggressive intimate relationship between Branka and Zev, but I still loved how they cared for each other. I can't wait to see what happens next
This book is terrible. It has got to be the worst in the lycans trilogy. The spells, chants, battles and sex are all recycled from all the other stories. The triplets are what finally destroyed any hope I had in this book. Zev's alpha behavior is disgusting and Branka's response is just as bad. I don't know if I can read another Carpathian book if it continues like this. I really thought the lycans would add to the Carpathian world.
Is that really how you end the last book? Wow... just Wow. This had everything that you wanted in a Carpathian novel with just a dash of Shades (50 Shades that is). If I can only find the words.
Ok allow me to begin with some history of mine. I started reading this books years ago and I loved the concept, but you know how it is after ten books you can kind of get tired of the story. You want something more so you tend to move to the next para-supernatural artist in your life. At some point you are in a library and you see a cover that captures your attention. You know the author because hey you have ten of her books on your book case and you figure what the heck I will go one good round with my Lycan's Carpathians and such. You read the first few pages and you are caught up once again in the world of the Carpathians. You are stuck sitting on the edge of your seat gripping the back of your book completely amazed and ashamed of your self because one it is fantastic; two what the hell is going on? A curse on the people, high mages, dragons and hell hounds oh my....
You stumble just a bit biting your freshly painted finger nails, uncaring about how you look to your family because you know that you have know hose it all ends... and when it does you are more satisfied then when you read both books of 50 (shades that is). You are completely satisfied with the outcome of the story and as you put the book down reliving some of the best story telling you have had the honor of experiencing in a long time... you realize... Dang it now I have to read the rest of the books....
Good job Christine... you have reestablished my love of the Carpathian's
Tied vagyok.

I listened to this book on Audible. To be honest, after 25 books in the series, it was Phil Gigante who drew me in to number 26 more so than anything else. He is a fantastic narrator. It's a 5 star narration.
There wasn't anything "new" in this story. I mean, sure, there were a few new twists and turns, but it's the same Carpathian story I've been reading for years. Still well written, still exciting, still full of angst. The problem is that I've read this story too many times now. I need something new. Some fresh twist or characters that will refresh the series for me. But...don't change the action/fight scenes. These are still some of the best described fight scenes I've ever read in a book. ;-)
A big thank you Mr. Gigante. I really thought I'd give this story two or maybe three stars, but his narration brought it to life for me.

I absolutely love all of Christine Feehan's books, but this one seemed to just go on too long. Maybe this series has just run it's course for me, not sure. But, I'll still read anything and everything she writes!!
Despite this was one of the books where a lot of things were happening, I did not like Zen and Bronnie: starting with the name-calling and going for all the times they have said how much they love each other and how much they are perfect for each other. Probably the fact that we arrived at the 26th installment of the series has also its weight, it would be nice if Mrs. Feehan shut the whole thing soon enough.

I admit it, I’m sick of vampire romance. I just want a good story. I skipped the romance stuff and just read the storyline and there really wasn’t much to it. Romance junk takes up most of the book. The story could have been decent if there was more to it. I used to like this series, but now it’s just sort of boring.
Book #26. and she's finally lost me. I can't even finish it. I've tried three times, and I give up.
*spoilers*
Having killed the villain in the last book, she's decided that instead of coming up with a new and unique villain, she's going to say he was secretly TRIPLETS. No joke. One of three, with almost identical names and skills. Even if that name didn't grate on me every time I read it, this book is also about 200 pages longer than it should've been, and the predicaments just get weirder and more far-fetched, even for fantasy. I'm just done.

Enjoyable book with details that kept it interesting.
