I think if I have read this book with my eyes, I would have given it at least four stars. It’s rare that audiobooks turn me off this strongly, but this one was a really bad experience. I’ll certainly continue the series but most definitely not go for the audio version unless the performer changes. As compared to the TV show, I must say there are enough differences to give you the feeling that the book and the series are two distinct stories with strong similarities. Both are good. Perhaps because of the horrible audiobook performance, I prefer the TV series.

This book kept me turning the pages. It was sufficiently twisty and suspenseful, I liked the characters, and the storyline was decent. I plan to look for another Department Q!

This book was thoroughly enjoyable. I really liked Carl, even though he was a bit rough around the edges. My only complaint would be certain choices the translator made. I am very familiar with the Danish culture and language and there were several times that the translation didn't seem accurate to me. That aside the book was great.
