I just love Ruth Ware. I officially own ALL of her books. This one was great, not unlike her others. In my opinion, it was a tad bit predictable in some spots but I still wanted to keep going and by the end I couldn’t put it down! The digital hacker jargon was a bit lost on me at times, but turned out a great storyline.

Jack and her husband, Gabe, have a unique job: they're hired by companies to test their security. After a routine job, Jack returns home to find her husband dead—and before she can protect herself, the police close in on her as their prime suspect, and Jack is forced to go on the run.
This was my first Ruth Ware, and based on others' reviews, it's nothing like her normal books (so maybe I should try a different Ware?). I'm sorry to report that it just didn't work for me.
Zero Days is no doubt well-written by someone who knows how to plot and write a thriller. The stakes are high, the danger is closing in. But as a whole it felt like a stretched-out story, watered down by repetition and questionable choices.
While Jack is resourceful and determined, she makes choices that are completely irresponsible, and I never agreed with what she was doing or who she decided to trust. Her reasoning for doing what she did didn't always make sense; or at least, it didn't justify her extreme actions. Plus, there were many head-smacking moments in which it was clear to me, and not to Jack, what was going on. None of her final revelations were especially shocking, and the ending was somewhat cheesy (and does leave you with some unanswered questions, perhaps setting up a sequel?).
Will this book work for some readers? I think so, most books are like that. I'll stress again that this is well-written, and exciting enough to be compelling. But overall, I personally found it quite a frustrating read.
